Gagan Bindra is GK’s Senior Technical Account Manager, and based in our London office. He’s worked for many years building advanced software solutions for financial systems, and that experience has made him a great asset in bringing GK’s NLP products to the financial markets. Gagan talks here about how he and his family stay busy during a pandemic, his love of the outdoors, and his enjoyment of the project development process.
Hey Gagan, thanks for taking the time to talk with me from across the pond.
What’ve you been up to lately? How have been staying busy outside of work?
Outside of work and due to the current pandemic, I have kept myself busy with lots of home and garden improvements. On the weekends we have our quality family time where we build complex puzzles, play board games, cook, bake and go for long walks or bike rides.
I also took up golf in May and I’m very glad I did. I didn’t think I would have enjoyed it as much as I have been. I love the fresh air, company of close friends and the accompanied exercise. I must get some lessons over the cold winter months.
What brought you to GK, and why is it a good fit for you?
In my previous role I worked as a bank technologist. I enjoyed working on large technology projects that required consolidating multiple regional systems into the bank’s cloud.
GreenKey solves complex problems by building Natural Language Processing (NLP) workflows for banks. And my previous experience with Trader Voice and compliance gave me a great sense of the value of voice and text data analysis on bank’s trading floors. Having personal experience with these tools has allowed me to provide the best possible project and workshop support to our customers.
What do you most enjoy working on, and what’s the most important aspect of your role?
I enjoy working on large Financial Markets projects: The whole process of gathering requirements, turning them into design solutions, and then implementing them for our customers on-premise or in the cloud.
Do you have a favorite mantra or quote?
“Where your attention goes, energy flows.”
Who do you most admire at GK and why?
I admire the entire GK team. We are a very lean group of smart individuals who collaborate to build great solutions to complex customer problems.
