General information only
Floor Noise describes how voice trading, speech recognition and the rules on recording calls work, as of the date shown on each page. Read it as background on how the business runs. None of it is investment advice, legal advice or advice on compliance, and none of it takes a reader’s own firm, account or position into account. Recording and retention rules are revised by legislators and supervisors, and their reading by courts and regulators shifts over time. Anyone building or auditing a recordkeeping program should work from the current rule text and take professional advice where money or liability depends on the answer. Anyone deciding whether to trade should remember that a page here recommends no product, no market and no firm.
Names and figures
Regulators, exchanges, standards bodies and companies are named because a page is about something they did or published. A mention implies no endorsement in either direction, and trademarks belong to their holders. Figures such as error rates, loss percentages and retention periods are reported with the date they were read and can change after it.
Other websites
A link to another site points to material its publisher controls. Floor Noise has no say in whether it stays online or changes.
Quotation and reuse
Brief excerpts can be reproduced with the name Floor Noise and a link back to the source. Republishing an entire article, or the bulk of it, requires written permission from editor@greenkeytech.com.
Corrections and changes
A reported mistake is checked against its source and corrected when the source supports the change. These terms can change without announcement. Whatever this page says on a given day is what governs that day.
